Spring Series Regatta 5 Results
The fifth Regatta of the 2007 Spring Series was held at Ta 'Xbiex when 7 skippers met to compete on Sunday 3rd June. It turned out to be an eventful day for some of the skippers!
Vinnie (boat no 30), equipped with new transmitter, receiver and winch thought to have a good days sail - but it was not to be - as the winch gave out during the first race and was not able to be fixed. Then three boats becaome entangled rounding a buoy, fortunately they were retrieved with no damage. This was not the case in the 7th race for Matthew (boat no 38) as an entanglement with Charlie (boat no 22) caused a line and an eye to be snapped which put Matthew out of the rest of the racing.
We hope that both Matthew and Vinnie will be back on the water in time for the final regatta on Saturday 16th June.
The days racing gave Alan (boat no 7) a commanding 1st position, followed by Christian (boat no 21) in 2nd and Albert (boat no 11) in 3rd position.
