Winter Series Regatta 2 Results
For the second Regatta of the Winter Series the chosen venue was Bahar ic Caghaq. Once the standard Olympic course was set, racing got off to a windy start under overcast skies, with boats saililng on either No 1 or No 2 rigs.
Today was the first race for Sandro (boat no 42) who had received his new boat from Grahem Bantock only four days previously. So it was with much excitment that Sandro launched his boat into the water for the first race. Problems with the winch caused Sandro to retire during the second race - only to discover at the end of all the races that 'the problem' was a blown fuse which could have been easily replaced. Better luck next time Sandro.
Consistant results gave Albert (boat no 11), Mark (boat no 18) and Matthew (boat no 38) commendable first, second and third placings for the day.
Thanks to those members who - not only turned up early to help set the course - but also stayed to help lift the buoys after the racing was completed. Use of different venues does impose these additional tasks, so very many thanks to those of you who were there to assist.
