Winter Series Regatta 3 Results
Pretty Bay, Birzebbugia was the chosen venue for the third Regatta of the Winter series held on Sunday 4th February. A lot of free water at this site enabled a standard Olympic course to be set with great ease - many thanks to all volenteers who arrived early and stayed late to assist with the setting and unsetting of the buoys.
Varied weather conditions throughout the morning required many sail changes to be made, from No 1 to No 2 and visa versa. Various problems saw Christian, Matthew, Mark and Sandro having to retire early - luckily Matthew was able to resume racing after the kind loan of replacement servo.
The storm clouds which had been looming all morning and were gathering as the group photo was taken, finally broke, making the last three races very wet and windy for everyone.
Consistant placings gave Alan (boat no 07), Vinnie (boat no 30) and Albert (boat no 11), commendable first, second and third placings for the day.
